A Tennessee college senior
is going viral and getting some criticism after posing
for a graduation photo in which she stares off-camera while lifting her
"Women for Trump" T-shirt to expose a handgun in her waistband.
Brenna Spencer [photo], who is set to
graduate from the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga with a communications
degree, posted the photo on Twitter with the caption, "I don’t take normal
college graduation photos..."

On "Fox &
Friends" on Wednesday, Spencer explained that she is passionate about
conservative politics and defending the Second Amendment, so she wanted her
graduation photos to reflect that.
"The Second Amendment has
been under attack -- especially on college campuses," Spencer said.
"So I think it's really important to empower people to show that you
should be allowed to protect yourself. Your rights don't stop at a college
campus."
Although she's received pretty
intense backlash from some on the left, Spencer said she "absolutely"
stands by her decision to pose with a gun and share the photo on social media.
"It's really, really
important to empower the tens of millions of ... gun-owning women and let them
know that they have a voice," Spencer said. “It’s really, really important
to stand up for what you believe in. It’s important to voice your opinions.”
